Sleepy Valley Quilt Co. has a large, airy classroom available for rent when not in use. Great for your special quilting events or sewing meetings.

The classroom at Sleepy Valley Quilt Co. is bright and airy, with a full length design wall, plenty of tables, chairs, ironing boards and irons.

When the classroom isn't being occupied by scheduled classes, we encourage folks to call ahead and reserve it for special quilting and sewing meetings!

This class is for the person who wants to learn quilt-making and for the quilter who wants help improving skills. The techniques are all here, including rotary cutting, hand piecing, appliqué, English paper piecing, foundation piecing, mastering that elusive 1/4" inch seam, machine piecing, working with templates, how to decode a pattern, dealing with sashes and borders, sandwiching the layers - and, the best part, you'll have a beautiful 12-block quilt to prove what you've learned, and to enjoy for the rest of your life!

Do you have some Fat Quarters that you don't know what to do with? Come join us on the first Fridays of the month. We will be making quilts and table runners with 5 Fat Quarters and some yardage. When you sign up at Sleepy Valley Quilt Company you will get the fabric requirements and some cutting instructions. At the class, you will receive the pattern and instructions. You will get a lot finished in class if not all completed. January's class will be a heart lap quilt.Look for it soon in the shop. Class is the first Friday of every month. Take one or take them all!

The longstanding interest in hand quilting goes beyond the need for fastening together three layers of a quilt. It is an enduring art because the look of fine hand quilting cannot be duplicated by any other means. It embodies the history and tradition of the quilt. Here for you are the tricks and tips of this time-honored technique.

If you have taken the Beginner Sampler class, and would like to continue to build skills, try new techniques, and gain confidence, while learning twelve new block patterns, this class is for you. Included are: rotary cutting, applique techniques, foundation piecing, re-perfecting the "1/4" seam, working with templates, machine piecing (including the "Y" seam), and tons of useful information – and your beautiful sampler quilt will be the proof of all you have learned!

This quilt looks more complicated then it really is. To get this intertwined look the key is to stay organized. The confident beginner will surprised how easy it is to make these knots. With a little pre-class cutting you'll be on you way.

Do you have the Winter "blahs"? Are you sad because your Spring flowers are not in bloom yet? Have no fear! Sign up for this applique class and stitch your own pot of flowers using wool!

Learn how to paper piece this old time favorite, the New York Beauty. The pattern calls for 42, 8-inch blocks and measures 48" x 56". Want to make it bigger, just add more blocks. In class you will learn how to paper piece and sew curved seams. Once the blocks are finished, they can be arranged to make a variety of twisting patterns. This pattern is fat quarter friendly. Your choice of fabrics can be from using just four different fabrics to having it be all scrappy. Challenge yourself and use a color you don't normally use. 10:30am to 4:00 pm

This workshop we will make applique with ease! This technique is great for beginners! Sonya will show the raw edge fusible web with spaces technique. We will go step-by-step in this all day class - so bring a lunch and share the fun! Students are required to have one of Sonya's patterns in order to attend the class. We have a number of Sonya's patterns available in the shop. We recommend starting with a simple pattern to give you time to complete the project in class.

Come and play block of the month with Lauretta one Sunday each month (check the shop online calendar)! We will be using the Quick & Easy Block Tool, available for purchase at the shop. You will use your own choice of fabrics. Pre-registration is required to reserve your table and chair. A general supply list, and a list of the blocks for the year, will be provided upon registration. At year's end, you will have enough blocks for a quilt! The fee each month is $5.00, and we will need your email address.

This is a workshop for those who need a little more help or just need to finish up quilt tops from a Taunght by Taunya Class.

This is a group for wool applique lovers! Come join the fun with other wool applique enthusiasts and be inspired to work on your wool projects.

Make your own tree lot. Make your trees out of Christmas fabric. Use different blues for those cold winter nights. Batiks will work great. Make whimsical trees. Having grown up on the Peninsula and seeing green trees everywhere I'm using Laurel Birch fabric to give mine some color. Learn different techniques in this class including putting together vertical rows.

We've all been there. Can you make a quilt for my co-worker? You check the mail and there's a shower invite. "Mom, I got invited to a birthday party, can you make a quilt for me to take?" You must be crazy when you hear yourself say "no problem." With a template, layer cake and border fabric this is done in know time. It'll soon be your go to quick quilt.
