Sleepy Valley Quilt Co. has a large, airy classroom available for rent when not in use. Great for your special quilting events or sewing meetings.

The classroom at Sleepy Valley Quilt Co. is bright and airy, with a full length design wall, plenty of tables, chairs, ironing boards and irons.

When the classroom isn't being occupied by scheduled classes, we encourage folks to call ahead and reserve it for special quilting and sewing meetings!

This class is for the person who wants to learn quilt-making and for the quilter who wants help improving skills. The techniques are all here, including rotary cutting, hand piecing, appliqué, English paper piecing, foundation piecing, mastering that elusive 1/4" inch seam, machine piecing, working with templates, how to decode a pattern, dealing with sashes and borders, sandwiching the layers - and, the best part, you'll have a beautiful 12-block quilt to prove what you've learned, and to enjoy for the rest of your life!

Do you have some Fat Quarters that you don't know what to do with? Come join us on the first Fridays of the month. We will be making quilts and table runners with 5 Fat Quarters and some yardage. When you sign up at Sleepy Valley Quilt Company you will get the fabric requirements and some cutting instructions. At the class, you will receive the pattern and instructions. You will get a lot finished in class if not all completed. January's class will be a heart lap quilt.Look for it soon in the shop.

The folded log cabin technique takes the traditional log cabin block idea and gives it an elegant textural twist, perfect for creating dramatic wall hangings, pillow tops and table runners. This block works whether your taste runs to traditional, artsy or modern. Be warned, however – you may find this process addictive! In class you'll learn, step by step, how to create a block with ultimate precision and see how those blocks can then be used in finished projects of all types (including taking the block "outside the box" by making it in different shapes). It requires minimal tools and supplies and is a perfect way to use some of those fabrics already in your stash!

It is an enduring art because the look of fine hand quilting cannot be duplicated by any other means. It embodies the history and tradition of the quilt. Here for you are the tricks and tips of this time-honored technique.

We are making a wool block for the month of February that has a heart theme! Perfect to display in your home for Valentines Day! Have fun and learn at the same time!

If you have taken the Beginner Sampler class, and would like to continue to build skills, try new techniques, and gain confidence, while learning twelve new block patterns, this class is for you. Included are: rotary cutting, applique techniques, foundation piecing, re-perfecting the "1/4" seam, working with templates, machine piecing (including the "Y" seam), and tons of useful information – and your beautiful sampler quilt will be the proof of all you have learned!

Have you ever wanted to make a quilt block a different size than what the pattern showed but didn’t know what size to cut the pieces? Learn how to calculate the size strip or square you need to cut, to make half square, quarter square, and flying geese units of any size. With this class you will walk away with four finished blocks and the pattern to turn them into a wall hanging.

Obsessed with pincushions like we are? Join Jan and Teresa each month to make an adorable pincushion. Start now and have them ready for Christmas, birthdays or just keep them for yourself! Come into the shop and see what pincushion we are making for the month.

It may look difficult but this table runner is easy and quick. Come learn how to make the Shifting Four Patch table runner. Change up the fabric to make a table runner for each season. Construction similar to the Seminole Piecing method.

Come and play block of the month with Lauretta one Sunday each month (check the shop online calendar)! We will be using the Quick & Easy Block Tool, available for purchase at the shop. You will use your own choice of fabrics. Pre-registration is required to reserve your table and chair. A general supply list, and a list of the blocks for the year, will be provided upon registration. At year's end, you will have enough blocks for a quilt! The fee each month is $5.00, and we will need your email address.

Bring your UFO and get going on it again! It’s so nice to finish a few things before the end of the year! Be sure to bring everything relating to your UFO – Lauretta will try to help, if you have questions or need advice. Register in advance, so we will know how to plan. Cost is $7.50 per session
